Thanks to its particular geographical position, the city has always been culturally influenced by the intersection of different civilizations: Latin, Slavic and Germanic.
The medieval castle is the heart and symbol of the city: from here the view sweeps over the rolling hills and the whole of Gorizia, where medieval, baroque and nineteenth century architecture coexist in a harmonious way.
Do not miss the many museums to visit, such as the Provincial Museums with the Museum of Fashion and Applied Arts, the Museum of the Great War and the Archaeological Collection, the Museum of the Middle Ages in Gorizia inside the castle.
